HHLS project achievements

This project was funded by GLA/ESF (Greater London Authority/European Social Fund) and Haringey Council. This project supported Haringey residents (18+) to progress into higher level qualifications and entry into sustainable jobs and/or progression into more hours and London Living Wage (LLW).

Examples of level 3 courses on offer included: Construction, including paid CSCS test and card, Railway Engineering – this course was employer-led and trainees were guaranteed jobs after successfully completing the course, Health and Social Care, and Child Care.

In addition, participants were provided with: Dedicated employment advisor, Employability support, Job brokerage support, In-work support, and Discretionary fund.

Project achievements

The programme successfully achieved all contractual targets, including participant engagement, NVQ Level 3 or above attainment, entry to employment, and sustained employment or progression.

Additionally, the programme exceeded grant requirements by offering practical assistance to overcome employment barriers, such as helping individuals in construction obtain CSCS cards and developing alternative assessment methods.

The community-based approach, leveraging trusted relations with the community and employers, was identified as a significant strength of the programme.

Although significant disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic interfered, the staff successfully adapted to ensure continuous delivery despite challenges.
